Since 1970, numerous scientific journals have reported beneficial effects of pulsed electromagnetic fields for various ailments. This non-invasive, side-effect-free PEMF technology has tremendous benefits. Listen to today's Live to 110 Podcast and find out why you should be using a PEMF device. What are PEMF's? Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields have been harnessed into a device that you can lay on for a few minutes a day to heal your whole body. We know from science that everything is energy and all energy is electromagnetic. Science has proven that all 70 trillion cells in our body communicate via electromagnetic frequencies. Without electromagnetic activity life cannot exist. PEMF are electromagnetic fields that pulsate using frequencies within the biological window of human cell frequencies. Extensive research concluded that there is a very narrow range of frequencies to which humans and animals react positively (0.5 – 30 Hz), also called the “Adey Window.” Pulsing the same frequency as the earth's resonating frequencies into the body heal, repair, regenerate and rejuvenate much like the grounding effect of strolling along the beach. When we are exposed to these beneficial, health-enhancing frequencies, electrical and chemical processes in the tissues are stimulated. PEMF are designed to support cellular energy, improving cellular health and function. A healthy body can only begin with healthy cells. We are only as healthy as our cells are. As for a visual, imagine unhealthy cells, which look like raisins, stick together with insufficient membrane surface. Healthy cells look like grapes, flow freely, have a large membrane surface allowing for nutrients, oxygen and water to be absorbed, while toxins and waste are being eliminated. When optimal cell function is present, the body will do what is does best: repair and heal itself. Unlike conventional medicine, which addresses symptoms and merely manages diseases, PEMFs address many of today’s ailments at the root of the cause–at the cellular level! When we address ailments with PEMFs, results may take time as it takes the body time the heal. Results are not instant, but rather cumulative and incremental. Why do PEMF'S work? In a nutshell, PEMFs send natural impulses, like those of the magnetic field of the earth, to each cell; our cells resonate, optimizing cell function. Raising the cell voltage to an optimal level enables an impaired cell to repair. When the body can produce new cells again it is truly anti-aging for the entire body. This happens while lying on a whole body mat, which emits bundles of natural frequencies via a waveform called saw-tooth, much like a smorgasbord of beneficial cell frequencies. An 8-minute session twice a day is suggested for optimal cell function. This optimal cell function remains for up to 6 hours after each session. Oxygen is increased and blood circulation improved. Local pain or local health issues are addressed with a pillow or probe, which contains a square wave. These frequencies are designed to reduce inflammation, pain and increase oxygen. This is thyroid week! So, I thought I'd replay this classic Live to 110 podcast about the thyroid. In his own words: For Years I lived my life behind a façade. Growing up with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy, I always struggled with self-confidence and body image issues. I was bullied, teased, and made fun of which only lead to weight gain and other underlying health problems down the road. I would come home from school and find comfort in food, and television, not letting anyone know about my pain. This continued on throughout my middle school years. By the time I was 15 years old I had a cholesterol level of 290, I weighed 210 pounds and I had chronic heart burn. I had to make a change! I needed to start taking responsibility for my life to make a better future. I began reading anything that I could get my hands on about diet and nutrition. I studied all of the exercise books, and with the help of my dad I was able to get myself into a gym to work out and start feeling healthy! I put all of my energy into reaching my goal, and in the end I lost 80lbs! I got my cholesterol from 290 down to a healthy 150, and I had zero heartburn. Was I healthier? Yes. Was I happy? Maybe…I may have lost weight, had lower cholesterol, no more heartburn, and I wasn't being bullied anymore,but something was missing.  I still saw a disabled person in the mirror. This would continue for 14 more years until I had the most life changing event of my existence, and caused me to see things and my situation in a whole new perspective. On September 10, 2012 I had a seizure that was completely out of the ordinary. After spending two weeks in the hospital for testing, my doctors informed me that my seizure was a result of excessive stress. This time I really needed to make a change, not in my eating habits, not in my exercise, but in myself! Over the course of the next six months I read, I meditated, and I posted daily affirmations on my refrigerator, on my bedroom mirror, and on Facebook, and I finally started to see myself differently. I began to realize that there is so much more to myself and my life than just a physical disability or seizure disorder. I was Daniel, and I AM unique and unique is AWESOME! One year later on February 5, 2013,  I had a surgery that had the potential to make me 80% seizure free, but I would lose total use of my left side. After much testing and consideration, I decided to go for it. I came out of the surgery still having seizures, but I regained use of my left side, and have more mental focus and clarity. Benefits of Meditation Better Focus Because meditation is a practice in focusing our attention and being aware of when it drifts, this actually improves our focus when we’re not meditating, as well. It’s a lasting effect that comes from regular bouts of meditation. Less Anxiety This point is pretty technical, but it’s really interesting. The more we meditate, the less anxiety we have, and it turns out this is because we're actually loosening the connections of particular neural pathways. What happens without meditation is that there’s a section of our brains that’s sometimes called the Me Center (it’s technically the medial prefrontal cortex). This is the part that processes information relating to ourselves and our experiences. Normally the neural pathways from the bodily sensation and fear centers of the brain to the Me Center are really strong. When you experience a scary or upsetting sensation, it triggers a strong reaction in your Me Center, making you feel scared and under attack. When we meditate, we weaken this neural connection. This means that we don’t react as strongly to sensations that might have once lit up our Me Centers. As we weaken this connection, we simultaneously strengthen the connection between what’s known as our Assessment Center (the part of our brains known for reasoning) and our bodily sensation and fear centers. So when we experience scary or upsetting sensations, we can more easily look at them rationally. For example, when you experience pain, rather than becoming anxious and assuming it means something is wrong with you, you can watch the pain rise and fall without becoming ensnared in a story about what it might mean. Better Memory One of the things meditation has been linked to is improving rapid memory recall. Catherine Kerr, a researcher at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging and the Osher Research Center found that people who practiced mindful meditation were able to adjust the brain wave that screens out distractions and increase their productivitymore quickly that those that did not meditate. She said that this ability to ignore distractions could explain “their superior ability to rapidly remember and incorporate new facts.” This seems to be very similar to the power of being exposed to new situations that will also dramatically improve our memory of things. It should be avoided completely or eaten only on rare occasions and in fermented forms. The soybean is now being linked to breast cancer, thyroid disease, menstrual and fertility issues, as well as severe allergies, compromised immunity and brain damage. SOY DANGERS SUMMARIZED High levels of phytic acid in soy reduce assimilation of calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc. Phytic acid in soy is not neutralized by ordinary preparation methods such as soaking, sprouting and long, slow cooking. High phytate diets have caused growth problems in children. Trypsin inhibitors in soy interfere with protein digestion and may cause pancreatic disorders. In test animals, soy containing trypsin inhibitors caused stunted growth. Soy phytoestrogens disrupt endocrine function and have the potential to cause infertility and to promote breast cancer in women. Soy phytoestrogens are potent antithyroid agents that cause hypothyroidism and may cause thyroid cancer. In infants, consumption of soy formula has been linked to autoimmune thyroid disease. Vitamin B12 analogs in soy are not absorbed and actually increase the body’s requirement for B12. Soy foods increase the body’s requirement for vitamin D. Soy infant formula can cause lifelong allergies, autoimmune thyroid disease, asthma, and attention deficit disorder. Fragile proteins are deformed during high temperature processing to make soy protein isolate and textured vegetable protein, making them very difficult to digest. Processing of soy protein results in the formation of toxic lysinoalanine and highly carcinogenic nitrosamines. Free glutamic acid or MSG, a potent neurotoxin, is formed during soy food processing and additional amounts are added to many soy foods. Soy foods contain high levels of aluminum that is toxic to the nervous system and the kidneys.
